Adopted Rule Changes for Spring 2013

1.

Modification adopted

1.    Removed: (U12 Boys, any Division 1 or Division 2A team with four or more multiple roistered players may reschedule any and all of their games. 

2.    Changed the initiated reschedule limit from two games to three games.

 

New Rule

5 . . . A rescheduled game shall be defined as a game whose site, time and/or date are changed in advance of playing.  This must be done in January of that year after receiving the first printing of the schedule.  It must be completed by February 1st of that year, and both coaches must agree as to the date, time, and location of the reschedule.  After February 1st, all reschedules must be handled in accordance with Rule 5.2.)  Any team may initiate the reschedule of up to three (3) games provided . . .

Removed: However, no fine shall be levied if the forfeiting team notifies the Referee Assignor 72 hours before game time of the forfeit.

 

New Rule

6.6 . . .Any association causing the failure to play an official game shall forfeit the game and be fined $70.00 for the first offense, $100.00 for the second offense and an additional $25.00 for each time thereafter.  (A team appearing, but unable to field at least seven (7) players after 15 minutes of the scheduled game starting time shall forfeit the game, and will be fined $50.00 for the forfeit.)  Any team that goes to the South Shore Soccer League Playoffs, that fails to play (forfeits) a scheduled or rescheduled game within the last three (3) weeks of the season which would determine the seedings and/or eligibility for the playoffs will pay a $100 fine in addition to any other fines due for the forfeiture.                         

 

3.

Modification adopted

Add the statement that coaches can now be shown yellow cards for dissent or red cards for using offensive, insulting, or abusive language and/or gestures.

 

New Rule

8.3.6 . . .promptly submit to the S.S.S.L. Referee Administrator within 48 hours a USSF game report detailing any player or coach ejections (Red Card) or significant events with any comments deemed necessary.  Details of Yellow Cards issued must also be sent to the SSSL Administrator within 48 hours, but do not require a USSF game report.  A coach or assistant coach may be shown a card (Yellow or Red).

Clarify that all u12 and older teams need to provide rosters

 

New Rule

9.2.1 . . . The head coach must be over the age of 18 and least five (5) years older than the age group that they are coaching.  If one or both of the coaches do not meet this criteria, then another responsible adult who meets this criteria must be present at the bench for each game to take responsibility for the team.  The coach will provide TWO (2) copies of the team roster forms (for all teams also the laminated roster and valid SSSL ID cards for all participants U12 and older, including both coaches for that game must be provided by the end of the game.)  Failure to do so will result in a $25 fine to the club for an un-verified roster and/or game forfeiture, and $50 fine to the club for no roster and/or game forfeiture.  Rosters signed by someone other than SSSL Registrar as the SSSL Registrar will result in a fine of $200 per offense. A registered (carded) coach must sign the roster.  A maximum of two coaches are allowed at the bench area.  Any player so listed on the roster form shall be deemed to have participated regardless as to whether they actually completed.  Any player on the team bench without an ID card will be considered an illegal player whether they enter the game or not.

 

5.

New Rule

The Field:  The field of play shall be rectangular.  The length of the field shall be between 60 and 80 yards long and the width of the field shall be between 40 and 55 yards wide.

New Rule

Goals:  Down sized goals shall be used.  The height shall be six (6) feet high by twelve (12) feet wide.
